Cougar Athletics Kicks Off the Fall SeasonThe fall season is underway for CSUSM Athletics, highlighting the following events:Athletics' Fall Pep RallyTuesday, Sep. 7, University Hour, Kellogg Library PlazaMeet your Cougar athletic teams and enjoy free food.Women's & Men's Home Soccer Double HeaderWednesday, Sep. 8, 3:00 p.m. Women's Start/5:00 p.m. Men's StartMangrum Track & Soccer FieldFree admission and parking in Lot Z.Come out and cheer on your #14-ranked Cougar women's team as they face off against #23 Master's College, followed by the men's team against #2 ranked Master's.The two-time defending conference champion women's soccer team started its season with a 2-0 win on-campus on Aug. 27 over Daemen College, then a spirited tie on the road against #12-ranked Vanguard University.  The Cougar men's team is off to a good start as well, bouncing back from a season-opening loss to defeat Pomona Pitzer 2-0 on the road.The women's cross-country team will begin defending its 2009 National Championship on Saturday, Sep. 11, at the UC Irvine Invitational.  CSUSM enters the season ranked #2 in the nation after pulling an upset at last year's NAIA National Championships to bring home the University's first team title.  The #10-ranked men's team will also be running at UC Irvine, and both teams will be competing as well on-campus on Oct. 16 at the Cougar Challenge, starting at 8:00 a.m.Check out www.csusmcougars.com to see all our teams' schedules and most recent results!
