CSUSM and Vista Unified School District to Sign MOU

Who: California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) President Karen Haynes, Vista Unified School District Superintendent Devin Vodicka and other champions for improving university accessibility for Vista youth.

What: CSUSM and VUSD will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide increased college preparation, guaranteed admission and ongoing academic support to qualified graduating seniors. The agreement launches a program that takes effect with the graduating class of 2017.

When: Tuesday, Sept. 17, 10:30 a.m.

Where: CSUSM - President’s Board Room, Craven Hall, 5th Floor, 333 S. Twin Oaks Valley Rd., San Marcos, CA 92069

Why: To ensure that students from the community of Vista are academically prepared for college and to provide guaranteed admission placement should they meet minimum California State University requirements and deadlines.

Additional: CSUSM has previously signed other similar agreements with Fallbrook Union High School District, Fallbrook Union Elementary School District, Bonsall Union School District, Vallecitos School District, Oceanside Unified School District, Temecula Valley Unified School District, San Marcos Unified School District, the Escondido Union High School District, the Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District, San Pasqual Academy, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, the Riverside County Public Social Services Agency and a Native American tribe.
