CSUSM Hosts Summit on Teen Pregnancy Prevention

What Works in Latino Teen Pregnancy Prevention - featuring educational presentations and film screenings on Wednesday, May 4 at the university's M. Gordon Clarke Field House from 8:30 a.m. to noon.At the summit, professional filmmaker, community advocate, and CSUSM professor Kristine Diekman will debut clips from her latest film project "Let's Talk/Vamos Hablar," a pregnancy prevention video that focuses on opening pathways for discussion between Latino teens and their families. Following the video, experts from several leading social service and health organizations in North County will present information on how to approach the topics of sex, relationships, the body, pregnancy and STD prevention with teens. CSUSM students - Sarah Taylor, Stephanie Savchuk, Juliana Watson, and Lily Rodriguez - will also be among the day's presenters.
