CSUSM Presents: Student Production of Big Love

CSUSM Presents: Student Production of Big LoveBeginning Wednesday, April 15, through Sunday, April 19, students at Cal State San Marcos will perform Big Love, loosely adapted from Aeschylus's The Suppliants. The play, unrelated to the HBO series of the same name, is about 50 brides who flee seeking refuge in a villa on the coast of Italy to avoid marrying their 50 cousins.The play, written by Charles Mee, takes the plot of the original Greek play into modern times: in one scene, the grooms ambush the brides by helicopter. While the brides and grooms wait for their wedding day, the characters raise issues of gender politics, love, and domestic violence.
