CSUSM Spring 2014 Library Exhibit: The Uterus Flag Project

The Kellogg Library at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) announces a new art exhibit titled The Uterus Flag Project beginning Monday, Feb. 10 and running through Tuesday, May 20, 2014. The exhibit area is on the third floor and is free and open to the public during all library hours. An opening reception and meet and greet with the artist, Terrilynn, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kellogg Library Reading Room.

This exhibit integrates the power of art and the ideals of feminism, highlighting craftivism as an alternate way of giving voice to social justice. The installation is the result of a collaborative social-practice art project, empowering participants to work with fiber arts to alter consciousness about women’s health concerns. The Uterus Flag Project will encourage the viewer to interact, participate and contemplate their views about the U.S. medical system.

Visitors may purchase a daily or timed permit in any general parking lot utilizing the daily permit machines.
