CSUSM Welcomes Assembly Member Shirley Weber for Diversity Luncheon Keynote Address, Oct. 14

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) will welcome Assembly Member Shirley Weber as the keynote speaker at the All People’s Luncheon. The event, which kicks off at noon in the University Student Union ballroom, is an annual celebration of the University’s commitment to diversity and social justice hosted by the CSUSM Office of Diversity, Educational Equity and Inclusion.

Since 2012, Weber has represented California’s 79th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Chula Vista, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City and San Diego. She chairs the Assembly Committee on Budget, Assembly Select Committee on Higher Education in San Diego County and the Assembly Select Committee on Campus Climate. She also serves on the Assembly committees on Education, Higher Education and Appropriations. Her keynote remarks will focus on the importance of social justice in higher education.
