CSUSM Women's Golf Earns Bid to NAIA National Championships

CSUSM Women's Golf Earns Bid to NAIA National ChampionshipsThe Cal State San Marcos women's golf team has received an at-large bid to the 2010 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships in Rapid City, South Dakota.The 129-player, 24-team field was announced by the NAIA on Thursday.  The Cougars, ranked #10 in the nation, were one of ten teams to receive an at-large bid.  CSUSM finished fourth at its Conference Championships in late April, competing in a loaded region that saw five teams receive bids to Nationals.Coach Fred Hanover's CSUSM women's golf team has not only qualified for Nationals in all 11 years of its existence, it has finished in the top-10 at Nationals in each of those 11 seasons.  CSUSM finished 10th at Nationals last season, a year after tying a school record with a third-place finish in 2008. The NAIA Women's Golf National Championships will take place May 25 through 28.Link:  http://naia.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/spec-rel/051310aab.html
