HR Offers New Training and Professional Development Program/Catalog

The Office of Human Resources is excited to release a Training and Professional Development Catalog series designed to enhance employee knowledge and a variety of skills at all levels of experience while meeting various learning styles. Available to employees are online learning resources and instructor-led training. The curriculum is organized into the following four focus areas:

• Professional Development Trainings
• Compliance Training
• Leadership Development Programs
• Work Life/Balance Trainings

Course offerings and programs will be released on a quarterly basis. Unless otherwise noted, there is no cost for state employees to participate in any of the course offerings. Employees are encouraged to consult with their immediate supervisor to determine the appropriate course options that may enhance their job performance or that will complement other professional development plans.

The Employee Training Center (ETC) will continue to be the hub where employees can access on-demand HR course offerings as well as register for instructor-led courses. Effective August 19, 2016, the Office of Human Resources upgraded to the Skillport Learning Management System. The new Learning Management System has upgraded features that are user-friendly and easily accessible from anywhere and from any web-enabled or mobile device. Employees wanting to access content from this catalog should click on the “Skillport Login” box from the main ETC page: www.csusm.edu/etc. Instructor-led courses can be found by entering the course ID in the search box located on the top right-hand corner.

Space for instructor-led courses is limited and workshops are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be sure to register to save your spot and to receive notifications in case a workshop is changed or canceled.
