California State University (CSU) Chancellor Timothy P. White will make his first official visit to California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) on Thursday, Oct. 24 as part of a 23-college tour. White, former chancellor at the University of California Riverside took office as the CSU chancellor in January 2013.

In addition to meeting with CSUSM leadership, students, faculty and staff, the chancellor will spend the day touring the campus and will host a by-invitation-only community reception and forum at 4:30 p.m. at The McMahan House. In addition there will be many unique photo and broadcast opportunities throughout the day. When: Thursday, Oct. 24, by-invitation-only community reception and forum from 4 to 6 p.m. In addition there will be many unique photo and broadcast opportunities throughout the day beginning at 9 a.m. Please contact Cathy Baur, associate vice president for communications, for specific times and locations.

Where: The by-invitation-only community reception and forum will be held in The McMahan House, located at CSUSM, 333 S. Twin Oaks Valley Rd., San Marcos.

Why: By visiting each of the campuses in the CSU system during his first year, Chancellor White hopes to better understand the regional needs and priorities at each institution.
