Mount San Jacinto College Transfer Students Have Guaranteed Spot at CSUSM at Temecula

An agreement to provide guaranteed admission for Mount San Jacinto College (MSJC) students to CSUSM at Temecula is now official. CSUSM Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Emily Cutrer, MSJC President Dr. Roger Schultz and MSJC Board President Joan Sparkman signed a transfer agreement on January 18 that outlined the compact. Guaranteed admissionThe program sets a structured roadmap to four-year college success for MJSC students. It promises that all transfer students will receive guaranteed admission into CSUSM at Temecula’s business program if they complete 60 semester credits, including full general education certification and meet minimum GPA requirements. Other agreements for the center’s kinesiology and nursing programs are forthcoming.Not only does this agreement guarantee admission to CSUSM at Temecula, but it helps students become college-ready, eligible to transfer to the main campus in San Marcos or any of the CSU system’s 22 other campuses.This is the tenth such agreement that CSUSM has signed with organizations and institutions within the region since 2006 and the first with an institution of higher learning. CSUSM at TemeculaCurrently, CSUSM at Temecula offers five undergraduate and two master’s degree programs. Each degree program has specific requirements unique to each program, and are all offered in a cohort-based model with block scheduling, nurturing a unique support base and richness of learning among students.  Noncredit program certificates and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute courses for adults over the age of 50 are also offered at the center.
