Special Presentation to Explore Global Economic Giant: ChinaAs part of the university's 20th anniversary celebration, CSUSM welcomes the community to attend a special morning presentation on Tuesday, Nov. 16, by business marketing professor Dr. Glen Brodowsky, titled: China: The Emerging Giant.Recently, China overtook Japan as the second largest economy in the world, which is a staggering development that has implications for every nation on earth. In his lecture China: The Emerging Giant, Dr. Brodowsky will discuss modern China and its central role in the global economy against the backdrop of its roots in ancient Chinese philosophy. He will also explore the social and political challenges of China's one-child policy and the environmental impact of China's economic development.Dr. Glen Brodowsky has been a professor of marketing and global business management for 14 years at CSUSM, instructing undergraduate and MBA courses in the College of Business Administration. He has lived and worked in China, Japan and Taiwan, and speaks five languages including Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese. In 2007, Dr. Brodowsky was selected as a Fulbright Scholar and taught at National Cheng-chi University in Taiwan. His research studies have been published in The Journal of International Consumer Marketing, The Journal of Global Marketing, The Journal of Applied Social Psychology, International Business Review, The Journal of East West Marketing, Marketing Education, Journal of the Academy of Business Education, and Time and Society.Commemorating the 20th anniversary of CSUSM, Professor Brodowsky's presentation is offered free of charge to the community.
