Cal State San Marcos will participate in the Great California ShakeOut at 10:10 a.m. on Oct. 15. All campus community members should practice “Drop! Cover! Hold On!”
A message will be sent at 10:10 a.m. advising the campus community to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On.” The drill will be broadcast via outdoor speakers, digital signage, text and email.
The ShakeOut is a chance to learn how to protect yourself and prepare your workspace and home for potential earthquake hazards. The goal is to prevent a major earthquake from becoming a catastrophe for individuals.
For individuals in an office or classroom, “Drop, Cover and Hold On” under any available large object that will provide protection from falling debris.
Campus community members are encouraged to participate wherever they are on campus at that time. Post a photo with #CSUSMShakes to be entered into a drawing for a CSUSM gift card.
