Memorial Stair Climb Honors 9/11 First Responders
The Cal State San Marcos Alumni Association hosted the fifth annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sept. 13 to reflect and remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
The event was held in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project, CSUSM Veterans Center, ROTC and Campus Recreation.
The Alumni Association also noted the participation of the San Marcos Fire Department and the support of Cohn Restaurant Group, which provided gift cards to Draft Republic San Marcos to the first 100 participants to check in.
Participants climbed a total of 2,071 steps, representing the number of steps that first responders climbed in the courageous efforts to save lives at the Twin Towers on 9/11.
Assemblymember Darshana Patel was in attendance to present a proclamation to the Alumni Association as a thank you for honoring and remembering the lives lost on 9/11.
