Dean of Students Appointment

Dear Colleagues,

Based upon my own observations, and highly positive feedback from a variety of campus constituents, I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Schreiber as Dean of Students. Jason has been serving as Interim Dean of Students for the past year, in addition to continuing to serve as director of Student Life & Leadership. With this appointment, Jason will continue to serve as Interim Director of Student Life & Leadership while we develop a long-term plan for Student Life and identify an organizational structure that will continue to enhance our students’ learning and development.

While serving as interim Dean of Students, Jason has played a critical role with our campus’ Critical Issues Team, Housing Advisory Committee to the CSUSM Corporation, and has established himself as a valuable resource on campus for managing a variety of complex issues.

Jason is a seasoned Student Affairs professional who has worked in higher education for over 20 years. Jason joined CSUSM in 2014 after serving as Director of Student Activities and Assistant Dean of Students at the University of San Diego. Before that, Jason held positions in orientation/new student programs, leadership programs, student union management and housing and residential education. Jason has a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Norbert College, Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Marian University, and is pursuing a Doctorate of Education at SDSU.
