Overcoming the Pain to Quit Smoking

Each year more than 26 million people in the U.S. attempt to quit smoking, and yet only eight percent succeed. Psychology researchers at CSUSM are exploring the link between one of pain tolerance and a smoker's ability to successfully quit. Their findings are helping inform new tailored inventions that could greatly improve success rates.
