Student Life & Leadership Welcomes New Director, Mr. Anthony "Tony" Pang

On behalf of the Student Life unit, within the Division of Student Affairs, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Anthony “Tony” Pang as the director for Student Life & Leadership.

Pang began his appointment on Feb. 7. He is excited to join the CSUSM community, and in his own words said, “I look forward to working with the students, staff and faculty to create a legacy for the future that supports engagement and leadership. Go Cougars!”

He joins us from Cal State Fullerton, where he most recently served as the interim director for Student Life & Leadership. At CSUF, he consistently strived to increase the engagement opportunities for students across campus, including expanding programs and services, implementing an online student organization database promoting data tracking and assessment, and facilitating the first annual student organization awards ceremony. In his tenure as the associate director and interim director, Pang led a Student Life team that became a CSU systemwide leader in implementing CSU Executive Order 1068 (Student Activities), including the registration and management of student organizations.

Pang has served as a student affairs professional for over 10 years. He received a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine and a master's in student affairs and higher education from Colorado State University. He has been involved in shaping the lives of students through residence life, health education programs, leadership development, student organizations and campus activities.
