Welcome DREAMER Resource Office Coordinator

I am very excited to share with you the news that Maria Chiem has accepted an offer to join the Student Affairs team, and the CSUSM community, as our new DREAMER Resource Office Coordinator. Chiem started on Oct. 15 and has already begun to settle into her new role.

Chiem joins us from Orange County, where she worked with Nicholas Academic Centers as its Coordinator for College Success Services, and later as its Director of College Success and Alumni Services. She has extensive experience working with first-generation, AB 540, DREAMERS, under-documented, DACAmented, and undocumented students. She assisted students with applying to college, acquiring resources to pay for college, navigating through college, and acquiring employment or pursuing graduate school after college. I am excited about the possibilities she brings to our campus.
