ALCI to Host Welcome Reception for Iraqi Scholars

The American Language & Culture Institute (ALCI) of CSUSM is hosting an Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program Welcome Reception at 8 a.m. on July 16 in Tukwut Courtyard outside the third floor of Craven Hall. The event is free and open to campus and community members to welcome these scholars. Light refreshments will be provided.

Please complete the IYLEP Welcome Reception RSVP by Monday, July 2 if you plan to attend.

The Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program for Undergraduate Students (IYLEP) is bringing more than 20 talented and dedicated Iraqi scholars to CSUSM, which is one of four universities selected to serve as a host institution.

The program, which is sponsored and funded by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and implemented by World Learning, works to support the goals of the U.S.-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen the connections between the people of the United States and Iraq. It has created a team of young Iraqi leaders who are inspiring and impacting their communities in Iraq since IYLEP’s creation in 2007.
