Call for Applications to Join the Cougar Chronicle Staff

Are you interested in becoming a part of CSUSM’s independent student newspaper, The Cougar Chronicle?

By joining The Cougar Chronicle, you can gain valuable work experience, stay connected to your campus community and tell stories that matter.

While CSUSM’s physical campus was closed for the 2020-2021 academic year, The Cougar Chronicle was still in operation, producing online content. The Cougar Chronicle will also be producing content in the fall 2021 semester, either online only or print and online.

We accept new staff members for the following positions on a rolling basis:

staff writers
photographers
video reporters
graphic artists

Regular staff members (the above positions) have no minimum hourly commitment and are unpaid. If interested in joining us in this capacity, email editor-in-chief Tania Ortiz at csusm.cougarchronicle@gmail.com.

We are also accepting applications for various editor and intern positions for fall 2021. If interested in the positions below, apply by Aug. 6 for priority consideration.

assistant editors (intern or non-intern)

video editor internship
graphic design/cartoonist internship
