Campus Website Homepage Update

A recent change to the csusm.edu homepage will help wayfinding with ‘one click’ options for employees and students. The new campus homepage banner focuses on frequently used links for our internal audiences.

The campus website evolves in response to the needs of the many campus community audiences. Adjustments are made as a result of feedback and web traffic analysis and this week we addressed one particular issue for our internal audiences.

When the new homepage design was released over the summer, there was a shift to focus on the needs of prospective students and external visitors. In this process, we saw an 86% reduction in traffic to the faculty/staff resources page. This week’s homepage banner change is a timely fix for the homepage wayfinding with a direct option that is clearly labeled “for faculty/staff” or “for students,” like we had previously.

We are in the process of addressing the needs of our internal audiences, in a more holistic way with changes for the landing pages, and expect a summer release of the new content. Contact web@csusm.edu if you would like to volunteer for user-testing on the new pages in the coming months.
