Campuswide Building Evacuation Drill on March 9

A campuswide building evacuation drill will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 9. The drill is in compliance with California State University Executive Order No. 1056, which requires each campus in the system to conduct a building evacuation drill at least once annually.

Timeline: On March 9 at 3 p.m., we will send out a message via the emergency notification system (ENS) to start the evacuation drill. We will utilize the desktop alert, digital signage, library PA, Cougar Central PA, and text to get the message out to evacuate the buildings. Your building’s fire alarm also may activate. The drill is expected to last 20-30 minutes. We ask that you evacuate the building, report to the nearest evacuation zone and wait for the “all clear” before re-entering buildings.

Evacuation zones: The campus evacuation zones have changed; please review the new assignments for your location.

Drill start message: “This is a drill! Evacuate all main campus buildings at this time. This is a drill!"

Once the drill is complete, we will send an “all clear” message via the ENS to end the drill.

All-clear message: “The drill has ended! All clear; you may now return to the building. The drill has ended!”
