Campus-wide Building Evacuation Drill Scheduled on Aug. 14

A campus-wide building evacuation drill will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The drill is in compliance with California State University Executive Order No. 1056, which requires each campus in the system to conduct a building evacuation drill at least once annually.

Timeline: On Aug. 14 at 11 a.m., we will send out a message via the emergency notification system (ENS) to start the evacuation drill. We will utilize the desktop alert, digital signage, library PA, Cougar Central PA, campus phone system and text to get the message out to evacuate the buildings. The drill is expected to last 15-20 minutes. We ask that you evacuate the building, report to the nearest evacuation zone, and wait for the “all clear” before re-entering buildings.

Drill Start Message: “This is a drill! Please evacuate all buildings on campus at this time. This is a drill!"

Once the drill is complete, we will send an “all clear” message via the ENS to end the drill.

All Clear Message: “The drill has ended! All clear, you may now return to the building. The drill has ended!”

Please contact Emergency Manager Robert Williams at rwilliam@csusm.edu or 760-750-4503 with any questions.
