Career Services Staffing Announcement

The Career Center has two major announcements as we continue the  spring 2018 semester:

It is our pleasure to announce that Diana Sanchez will be assuming the role of interim director of the Career Center as we bid farewell to Pamela Wells. Diana joined CSUSM in 1991 after working with the SDSU transition team. Beginning in what was originally the Office of Career Planning and Placement as the first office manager, she has also served the Career Center as career counselor and associate director. Ms. Sanchez has helped to steer the Career Center through numerous transitions in staffing and leadership, provided training and support to new professional staff members, and collaborated with our campus partners to establish numerous programs for students and alumni. She has served on national and statewide boards related to employment recruitment, including the American Association for Employment in Education and holds a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies with a minor in Japanese language, both from San Diego State University.

Gregg Simmons is joining the Career Center team as the employer relations specialist position in the Career Center. Gregg has 25 years of career services and human resource management experience including 10 years in employer relations. He has worked in higher education and for non-profit organizations including the University of Redlands, National University, Oak Valley College, The Urban League of San Diego and the United States Olympic Committee. Mr. Simmons holds a master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Counseling from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands.

Please join us in congratulating Diana Sanchez in her new role and welcoming Gregg Simmons to CSUSM.
