CSUSM Celebrates Homecoming 2014

It’s Homecoming Week at CSUSM!

Students, alumni, community members, faculty and staff are invited to engage, connect and celebrate during CSUSM’s Homecoming 2014.

This week’s schedule offers exciting events and, most importantly, many opportunities for alumni to catch up with classmates and friends. Use the official hashtag #CSUSMhomecoming to tag posts and photos on social media!

Upcoming events include:

Country Throwdown – Wednesday, Nov. 19, 7 to 9 p.m. – University Student Unioin

Who’s invited: Students

Yee Haw! Howdy partner!! Come join us in the USU Ballroom for some boot scootin’ Wednesday night fun. Dance your heart out to your favorite country music and learn a few new moves. This event will be a great night filled with music, food and more. Come show us how you throw down, country style!

CougarFest - Thursday, Nov. 20, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Kellogg Library Plaza

Who’s Invited: Students, Alumni and Employees

Featuring free carnival games, interactive booths, a rock wall, dunk tank and lots of prizes and free Cougar swag for students, CougarFest is one of CSUSM's most popular Homecoming traditions.

Event-goers will have the opportunity to collect tickets from each carnival booth redeemable for cool prizes including gift cards and CSUSM Cougar gear (prizes are limited; first come, first serve). Food trucks will be on hand to serve up some of your favorites cuisines (available for purchase). Click here for additional information

Alumni Employee Luncheon – Friday, Nov. 21, noon to 1 p.m. – University Student Union Rooftop

Who’s invited: Faculty & staff who are CSUSM Alumni (RSVP required)

The CSUSM Alumni Association invites employees (faculty and staff) who graduated from CSUSM to join President Haynes for a special lunch with their fellow alumni who are all affectionately referred to as CSUSM²: Educated Here, Employed Here. Attendees will receive a special Homecoming giveaway

Blue Out – Friday, Nov. 21, all day

Show off your Cougar spirit! Cal State San Marcos students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to wear blue to work or school on Friday to help channel CSUSM spirit and pride!

Challenge your friends and colleagues and let’s turn our campus and region blue!

Share a photo of yourself wearing blue or CSUSM gear and use #csusmhomecoming to participate via social media!

Homecoming BBQ and Basketball Game

Saturday, Nov. 22

Campus BBQ begins at 5:30 p.m. | Rally Buses depart at 6:45 p.m.

Game starts at 7:30 p.m. (TICKETS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY)

Who's Invited: Students, Alumni, Employees, Families, Community

Join your fellow Cougars for a pre-game BBQ on campus, then load the rally buses to the Homecoming game to cheer on Men's Basketball as they take on the defending NAIA Champtions, Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at MiraCosta College. Get tickets now...

A BBQ dinner, catered by Hunter Steakhouse and sponsored by Liberty Mutual, will be served at the Rally BBQ hosted on campus at The Clarke. Family-friendly activities including face painting and photos with Crash will be on hand to entertain children and Cougars alike. While supplies last, attendees to the game will receive free Cougar Headband to wear while cheering on our faithful Cougars.

Tickets are limited and required for entry. First come, first serve.
