CSUSM to Host Virtual Summer Scholars Showcase on Aug. 5

Students in Cal State San Marcos’ Summer Scholars Program will virtually present their work during the Summer Scholars Showcase on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.

Visit the Summer Scholars Showcase website for a complete list of presenters and information on viewing the presentations.

The College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM) hosts the Summer Scholars Program each year to actively engage undergraduates in STEM research. Working closely with faculty mentors, students gain hands-on experience in highly interdisciplinary projects and learn to apply new instrumental techniques and analytical methods.

The 10-week program concludes each year with the Summer Scholars Poster Showcase, in which participants share the methods, results and interpretation of the work they have done over the summer. While typically held on campus, this year’s showcase will be held virtually in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Summer Scholars Program is supported by generous gifts from ESET, Genentech, Hologic, Illumina, USDA and Viasat.
