Future Changes to ELM/EPT

To: CSUSM First-Year Students Enrolled in Pre-collegiate Math and Writing Classes

On August 2, the CSU Chancellor’s Office issued Executive Order 1110, which provides policy changes to the way we serve incoming students. Among other things, it eliminates the ELM and EPT and pre-collegiate Math and GEW courses.

These changes go into effect for first-year students enrolling for fall 2018 and do not apply to students currently enrolled at CSUSM.

If you are currently enrolled or will be enrolling in spring 2018 in Math 10, 20, 30 and/or GEW 050, continue to follow your degree planner and complete your required courses.

If you would like academic support as you work to complete your math and writing courses, we encourage you to visit the Math Lab and/or Writing Center.

If you have any questions about the proficiency requirements that you need to meet, please contact Readiness and Success Services or Proficiency Services.

Sincerely,
Dawn M. Formo, Ph.D.
Dean of Undergraduate Studies
