Gang Prevention Video Premieres Sept. 8The premiere screening of a gang prevention video produced and directed by Professor Kristine Diekman, will be presented Monday, Sept. 8, at noon at the Clarke Field House. The public is invited and admission is free.The 25-minute video, titled “Not too Early, Never too Late,” was produced in collaboration with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Vista Station, and funded with a $30,000 grant from County Supervisor Bill Horn. It includes interviews with parents who have lost their children to gangs, youth in gangs, former gang members, educators, and professionals from law enforcement and social services.Intended primarily for Spanish speaking parents, the video includes both a Spanish and English version. A discussion with parents, youth, former gang members, educators, law enforcement officials and others follows the screening.Diekman, who spent eight months on the project, said she received “outstanding and moving collaboration with members of the San Diego community from all walks of life.
