Join CSUSM's Chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta

Did you just finish your first semester at CSUSM and receive a 3.5 GPA or higher? Have you declared a major yet? If the answer to both of these questions is “yes," then we would like to invite you to join CSUSM's chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year students.

Eligible students have been notified via their Cougar email. If you feel you have been missed, please contact aldcsusm@gmail.com to get an invitation to become a member. Please include your student ID number in your email so we can verify your GPA.

Graduating seniors: It is not too late to qualify and show off all that success with grad cords. Contact us now to see if you are eligible for an ALD grad cord.

Here is a quick overview of the benefits Alpha Lambda Delta membership has to offer you:

  • Is a resume booster
  • Has no time requirement*
  • Provides campus and local service opportunities
  • Affords the opportunity to meet other students committed to academic excellence
  • Is economical, with one-time-only dues payment for lifetime membership ($55)
  • Offers over $207,000 a year in scholarships and fellowships at the national level
  • Offers honor cords and other regalia for graduation.

*A note about time commitment: We make a point to tell students that their level of involvement in ALD is up to them. Many students want to simply be a member and have no interest or time to participate in chapter activities. This is OK! Passive membership in ALD has its place. It allows the student to be recognized for academic achievement and proudly include the honor on their resume. They are eligible for graduate fellowships for the rest of their life, and their membership supports scholarships and fellowships for all members.

Please direct any and all questions to aldcsusm@gmail.com, and one of our officers will be able to assist you.
