President Karen Haynes Receives the 2010 Most Admired CEO in Education AwardThe San Diego Business Journal recognized Dr. Haynes for her accomplishments as President of California State University San Marcos on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at the 2010 Most Admired CEO of the Year banquet.The fourth annual event honored the city's most influential CEOs--dynamic business leaders and role models selected for their achievements and contributions in public, private and nonprofit sectors, education and government agencies. With remarks by Honorable Jerry Sanders, Mayor of San Diego, attendees enjoyed an evening celebrating the success of numerous remarkable individuals.The panel of judges selected Haynes for her accomplishments as a leader in both education and community engagement.
