Reorganization of Procurement and CSUSM Corporation

I am pleased to announce the restructuring within Finance and Administrative Services of Procurement and the CSUSM Corporation.

The merger of auxiliaries and establishment of CSUSM Corporation has created opportunities that have allowed us to look at our organizational structure with an eye on the future. The following changes are effective October 1:

  • Bella Newberg will assume a new role as associate vice president for business development and CSUSM Corporation executive director. Bella’s responsibilities will include real estate development, campus dining and catering, commercial services, student housing, sponsored programs, post award administration and auxiliary support services.
  • Procurement & Support Services will be renamed Procurement Operations & Accounts Payable. It will move back under Finance and Budget and report to University Controller Clint Roberts.
  • David Taylor will become the new manager of strategic sourcing, providing direction and leadership for daily operations in procurement and contracting functions.
  • A recruitment will be launched this week for a new director of Procurement Operations and Accounts Payable. The director will be responsible for all aspects of the university's procurement operations, contracts, materials management, distribution services, accounts payable and travel departments. The new director will report to Clint Roberts.

These changes will provide us with the depth and additional resources needed to support our campus growth.

Sincerely,
Neal Hoss
CFO & Vice President, Finance and Administrative Services
