Seeking Active Women for Resistance Exercise Study

Researchers from CSUSM and Auckland University of Technology are seeking active women to participate in a study to assess differences between acute circuit and traditional strength training. Women ages 18 to 40 are invited to participate if they have at least six months of experience with resistance training, are free of musculoskeletal injury, and are not currently dieting or trying to lose weight.

The research will be conducted in the Extended Learning Building on campus. The study will require four visits lasting a total of five hours. After this acute study, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a 10-week training study. Ph.D. student Sohee Lee is leading the study and can be contacted at soheeleeaut@gmail.com. The faculty sponsor for this project is Dr. Matt Schubert, Department of Kinesiology (mschubert@csusm.edu). This study has received ethical approval from the AUT and CSUSM human subjects’ review boards.
