Social Justice Summit 2016 - Apply Now

Attention All Students!  Limited spaces…APPLY NOW!

The Social Justice Summit (SJS) is a three-day/two-night retreat for CSUSM undergraduate students. This year, the summit will be held November 4-6, 2016, at a nearby location and space is limited. A $5 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a space. This year, participation will include a complimentary ticket to the Arts & Lectures featured speaker: Dr. Cornel West. SJS provides students a social justice framework for campus leadership, community engagement and change activism.

Participants will explore and challenge personal perceptions and social norms through experiential activities, individual reflections and group dialogues.

Through the experience and learning of SJS, students will:

  • Examine their personal identity in relation to others.
  • Recognize their personal connection with systems of power and privilege.
  • Construct relationships and support networks with other individuals committed to social justice.
  • Develop skills to become socially conscious leaders and community members.
