Vote for Next Year's Common Read!

Please join the University Library and the Campus Common Read Committee (CCRC) in voting for next year's common read here.

What is common read? Find out more here.

This year the Library did something a little different. Instead of us selecting five books for you to choose one, we sought the help of a group of faculty, staff, and students from around campus to take part in a committee that would allow us to solicit text recommendations from our campus stakeholders. This year's representatives are…

Talitha Matlin, First Year Librarian
Rosa Conrad, GO Team rep
Renzo Lara, Student Centers rep
Kenny Tran, ASI rep
Matt Atherton, Faculty Center rep
Joanne Pedersen, GEL rep
Martha Stoddard Holmes, GEW co-chair
Susie Lan Cassel, GEW co-chair
Ariel Stevenson, OIE rep

These folks went out to their constituents for text ideas (didn’t have to just be a book), and then as a committee, they ranked all of your suggestions into their top 5 choices. What are those choices? Vote here before April 19th to find out.

Once you make your selection, the committee will select supplementary materials for you to access next year that will complement the new common read. Finally, the CCRC will also start planning engaging and entertaining campus events based on the themes found in your selection of next year's common read!
