Background and Purpose
In April 2016, CSUSM President Karen Haynes met with University Council members Rita Brandin (senior vice president, Development director at Newland Communities) and Linda Bailey (president of Community Strategies Group) to discuss an idea for a co-curricular, distinguished speaker series featuring successful women. The intended goal is to feature successful women leaders and provide a forum for the women to share their career journeys/paths, particularly in nontraditional fields/sectors.

Women Breaking Boundaries Speaker Series events will consist of a panel of 3-5 women. For each event we will have a common thread or theme. The event will begin with networking and light refreshments. Then, a one-hour moderated panel discussion will take place. Following the panel discussion, time will be allotted for questions from the audience.
