CASE Awards Recognize University Magazine, Multiple Stories
Cal State San Marcos' University Communications office earned recognition from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with three honors in the 2025 Best of District VII Awards. The winning entries are:
- “Steps Magazine 2024” in the Alumni/General Interest Magazines category;
- Bri Phillips’ story “Incredible Mulk: Class Project Becomes Thriving Almond Milk Business” in the Writing: Profile (1,000+ Words) category; and
- Brian Hiro’s story “Once Undocumented, Alumna Now Supports Others Like Her” in the Writing: News/Feature (1,000+ Words) category.
CASE District VII represents professionals and institutions in the Western region of the United States, including Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands and Utah.
Earlier this year, CSUSM’s University Advancement division earned international recognition from CASE with two honors in the 2025 Circle of Excellence Awards.
CASE is a global nonprofit association dedicated to educational advancement – alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and advancement services – and championing education to transform lives and society.
