Five Students Receive Scholarships From Local Organization

Five Cal State San Marcos students have received scholarships from a local women’s organization.

At its annual scholarships awards lunch on Jan. 11, North County Women in Networking (NCWIN) gave $3,000 scholarships to five female students: Selena Aguilar, a graduate student in the School of Education; Alexa Francisco, a graduate student in the School of Education; Wendy Nestoso, a junior business administration major; Emily White, a senior nursing major; and Jazmin Yanez, a junior sociology major.

The students were chosen by a NCWIN scholarship committee after it reviewed applications. The winners all attended the January event and shared their personal story with attendees.

NCWIN has been serving the community with scholarships for more than 25 years and has been a longtime partner of CSUSM. It’s a “member-based organization that empowers and supports female professionals and provides social engagement in a diverse and positive environment, as well as promoting philanthropy through service and scholarships.”
