Newsweek Ranks CSUSM Among Nation's Best for Online Programs
Cal State San Marcos is ranked 90th in the nation on Newsweek’s list of “America’s Top Online Colleges for 2026.”
CSUSM is one of eight California State University schools to make the list, which includes the top 250 colleges and universities in the country.
It’s the fifth time that Newsweek has partnered with Statista to honor institutions that offer online degree programs to learners who want to obtain an academic degree, including hybrid programs with online and offline courses or exams.
According to Newsweek, the ranking is built using an online survey of more than 10,000 U.S. citizens who have used online learning services either to earn a degree or to further their knowledge and skills for a job or a hobby. Participants also rated their experiences based on organization, support, price, reputation, success and practical relevance.
