Numerous Dance Workshops Available Throughout Spring

The Dance Studies department is hosting a series of workshops throughout the spring, including two upcoming events featuring Daunté Fyall, a dance instructor, performing artist, choreographer, motivational speaker and founder of the West African performance company DAANSEKOU.

Fyall will host a stepping dance workshop and artist Q&A from 6-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the Black Student Center. He’ll be returning to campus on March 3 for an Afro-contemporary dance workshop in ARTS 101 from 1:30-2:45 p.m.

Dance Studies is hosting additional workshops and guest artists throughout the spring, including:

  • An artist meet and greet with Safos Dance Theatre from noon-1:30 p.m. on March 10 in the Cross-Cultural Center.
  • Safos Dance Theatre with an artist talk from 2:30-3:45 p.m. on March 11 in ARTS 111.
  • "Stories From Home" performance by Safos Dance Theatre at 7 p.m., March 13 in ARTS 111.
  • K.J. Holmes for a body-mind centering improvisation from 10 a.m.-noon on March 16 in ARTS 101.
  • A Dance Studies youth reception at 5:30 p.m., April 29 in ARTS 111.
  • The annual spring dance concert at 7:30 p.m. on April 30 and May 1 in ARTS 111.
