Awards and Accolades: Alum Part of Senate Fellowship Program

By Eric Breier

Cal State San Marcos alumnus Christopher Morales is participating in the 2018-19 California Senate Fellows program. Morales served as ASI’s vice president of student and university affairs in 2016-17.

The Capital Fellows Programs, which are administered by the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State, provide an opportunity for college graduates to engage in public service and prepare for their careers.

Fellows work as full-time staff members in the California State Assembly, California State Senate, California Executive Branch or the California Judiciary. They participate in policymaking, program development and program implementation.

The deadline for the 2019-2020 fellowship is Feb. 11. Information and application materials are available online. Fellows receive a monthly stipend plus full health, vision and dental benefits. They also earn six units of graduate credit from the Sacramento State political science department.
