Music Department Chair Kicks Off Arts & Lectures Series

Ching-Ming Cheng, the chair of Cal State San Marcos’ music department, will be performing live on campus for the first Art & Lectures event of the spring semester.

The “Ching-Ming Cheng Campus Concert” is at 7 p.m. on Feb. 18 in Arts 111. The event is free for CSUSM students. Faculty, staff, alumni and community members can reserve tickets online via the Arts & Lectures website.

Cheng’s concert will feature her longtime friend Janet Kao, a faculty pianist at Chapman University. They will present a two-piano concert featuring old-time favorite tunes like Carmen Fantasy and the Disney theme medley.

CSUSM’s Arts & Lectures series offers a diverse lineup of artistic, cultural and scholarly events every semester based on input and proposals from students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. Events are scheduled to take place largely in person this spring, subject to change based on developments related to COVID-19. Attendees can reserve tickets online via the Arts & Lectures website
