Photo Opportunities Abound With Graduation Approaching
By Bri Phillips
Calling Class of 2023 graduates!
With the end of the spring semester approaching, many students are donning their cap and gown for graduation pictures.
Taking photos on campus is a great way to remember your time, memories and accomplishments at Cal State San Marcos. We've put together this handy list of some of the spots you might want to consider for capturing on film (or, more likely, digitally).
If you're using glitter or confetti, be sure that it's biodegradable to protect our campus environment. You can learn more about eco-friendly photo options on the Sustainable Graduation website.
Administrative Building Rotunda
The university's iconic rotunda is one of the great spots on campus to capture a graduation shot, whether posing inside or with it featured in the background. Featured prominently in CSUSM's logo and arguably the most recognizable architectural design on campus, the rotunda is part of the Administrative Building.
Campus Entrance Sign
Snap a shot in front of CSUSM’s campus sign in the circle at the end of Craven Road to get a view of the buildings (and stairs) on campus behind you.
César Chávez Statue
Every year, CSUSM commemorates social activist and humanitarian César Chávez on March 31 for his leading voice to protect migrant farm workers. Take a picture with the Chávez statue to remember the impact he left on the region.
Palm Court
Located right in front of Markstein Hall, the greenery in Palm Court makes a great photo spot location.
Amphitheater
This unique space is the only formal outdoor performance area at CSUSM.
Stairs
You've gotta have at least one shot on the stairs, right? Whether it's the entrance to campus, University Hall, the César Chávez statue or somewhere else, there is no shortage of options.
