Free COVID Testing Site Opens in Lot B on Campus

The County of San Diego is resuming free COVID testing at Cal State San Marcos beginning Tuesday, Aug. 3, from a new on-campus site in lower parking lot B off Craven Road. The walk-up testing site is open to the public and no appointment is needed.

The testing site is open from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday-Thursday. Please be sure to check the county's website for any changes to operating days or hours.

The site is one of three county-operated walk-up testing sites in North County.

CSUSM places the highest priority on the health, safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. In keeping with the university’s guiding principles, the following measures are in place to protect the campus community:

  • COVID-19 symptom self-assessment is required, but employees, students, vendors and contractors no longer need to submit the screening form through the campus app or website. By coming to campus, all students, employees, vendors and contractors are confirming that they are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • All CSUSM students, faculty, staff, independent contractors and vendors must stay home if they are unwell. Contact a supervisor or faculty member to notify them of an absence. Stay home, self-quarantine, monitor symptoms, and seek medical care if you are sick. If you receive a positive COVID-19 test, report it on our form.
  • Following new federal guidance, San Diego County officials are now recommending the universal wearing of masks by both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings. Thus, students and employees, regardless of vaccination status, are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings indoors.
