Resources for those Impacted by Sawday & Miller Fires

Update 2:50 p.m.

As we continue to monitor wildfire activity in the region, we want to share that another wildfire - the Miller Fire - is burning in Valley Center and evacuation orders are in effect.

The resources that we shared earlier today related to the Sawday Fire are also available to members of our campus community impacted by the Miller Fire.

Update 11:30 a.m.

The Sawday Fire is currently burning in Ramona, and parts of Ramona and Julian are under evacuation. Students, faculty and staff may be impacted – or have friends, family and loved ones impacted.

Given that campus is closed today from an unrelated and unplanned power outage, typical services, including Cougar Care Network, Human Resources and Faculty Affairs, are closed; however, employees may contact the Employees Assistance Program at (800) 367-7474. During the campus closure, students can access afterhours counseling support by calling 760-750-4915.

When the campus reopens, impacted students may contact the Cougar Care Network at 760-750-7627. Faculty and staff can also refer students to the network.

To be connected to available regional resources, contact 2-1-1 San Diego.

As a reminder, during an emergency, please stay tuned to local media and verified social media accounts. In addition, you can receive alerts from the County of San Diego by registering your information with AlertSanDiego or via the AlertSanDiego App.

Finally, we’d like to share Cal Fire’s website: http://www.readyforwildfire.org/
